Midnight Indoor Pickleball

Light-colored balls can easily blend into the wall color, making them difficult to see. These balls are Jugs Indoor balls, that are dyed to a dark color. The dye does not impact the play of the ball. The soft, slightly-textured surface of the ball gives them a fun bounce and great performance.

The balls have a diameter of 2.875” and a light weight of only 0.81 ounces. These energetic balls have the largest bounce of any ball, measuring an average bounce height of 37”.

These balls are easier to see while in an indoor court. However, they are a slower ball vs the orange or lime green.
They would be a good beginners ball.
But, then you would outgrow them quickly as your game progresses.


Black Balls for gym floors

These are great. Our gym floors are all shiny and beige or tan. The while ball and the yellow ball just blend into the floor. The black balls can be seen unless the gym has a skylight and the sun is shining but then you can't see any color ball.


Indoor black ball experiment

We've been using the black balls with very mixed reviews. Our gym has off white walls, blonde wood floors & marginal lighting. The black ball is much easier to track than any light colored ones, yellow, white, lime green, etc. However, when there are players wearing dark blue, black clothing, the ball disappears when they hit a "line drive" type of shot. I use a paddle with a black face & I've had comments that they can't see the spin on the ball as it leaves my paddle. I believe the opinions are somewhat subjective in that people are used to the green ball & don't want to change. Time will tell.

The location we are using for Pickleball has white walls, white floors with yellow lines and of course the top of the net is white, so we had a very hard time with the yellow or lime green balls.
