"I enjoy hitting with an elongated paddle. I feel like I can attack a ball more with this shape. And the V560 is one of those great in between shapes. It measures 16 1/2” long by 7 1/2” wide, so while it is not as long and narrow as the V550, it is longer than all the other Vulcan paddles. Compared to the V550, I feel more comfortable blocking with this paddle at the net. In addition, when I go for a passing shot the power is absolutely there. At 13mm, this paddle is not as thick as many of the competitors on the market. The thinner cores like this tend to play with more power, and this is true for this paddle. You really feel the ball on the paddle and can generate just a little more power than with their 16mm core models.
The surprise for me is that the Power version of the paddle is a carbon fiber paddle, while the Control version of the paddle is made of fiberglass. Normally I find the opposite to be true. However, I felt the difference here. I seemed to hit harder with the carbon fiber version. There is more ‘pop’ off the face of fiberglass version, but the overall power I could generate was greater with the carbon fiber.
I like both versions. I found the V560 Control stayed in the court more easily at first. But the joy of hitting the V560 Power just a little harder won me over."
